George R. Barbour, PE has over three decades of civil engineering, structural engineering, engineering forensic investigations, and construction observation/administration experience. He has prepared plans, specifications, and bid documents for a variety of projects including bridges, parking decks, commercial and residential buildings as well as cellular communication sites. Mr. Barbour also provides comprehensive engineering and forensics investigation services for a variety of building systems. He has performed construction/design defect assessments, mold and moisture causation investigations, building condition assessments, building code compliance reviews, insurance damage assessment studies, OSHA and accident reconstruction studies, and has provided expert testimony concerning his investigations.
The practice of civil engineering requires an understanding of physics and mathematics, and encompasses a wide range of specialized sub-disciplines, including structures, civil, environmental, geotechnical, and transportation. But these engineering skills alone are not sufficient to successfully navigate the complex path between an initial concept and the completed construction project. The complexity of a project significantly increases when the unexpected occurs, problems arise, or disputes between the various parties flare up.
George Barbour + Associates offers over three decades of education, construction, engineering, and dispute resolution experience to building owners, design and construction professionals, attorneys, and insurance companies.
We believe that engineering has a direct and vital impact on the quality of life for all people. We believe the services provided by engineers require honesty, impartiality, fairness, and equity, and must be dedicated to the protection of the public health, safety, and welfare, and that engineers must perform under a standard of professional behavior that requires adherence to the highest principles of ethical conduct.
